2015 Student Exchange Chicago to Paris

2015 was a very exciting year.  For the first time, King took part in a international Student Exchange Program.  Students had been in contact with a high school in Paris, Lycée Colbert throughout the year, working on a variety of projects till they were finally ready to cross the Atlantic and meet their Parisian family.  For ten days, they experienced the Parisian life, attending classes with their French brother and sister, and taking part of the family’s activities. It was a special moment for all.

Students attended a reception at City Hall of the 10th arrondissement where they met with the local Mayor.  A King student presented his photographic capture of Chicago’s Millennium Park to the Mayor. An official letter from Mayor Emanuel was also presented.  The principal of the Lycée Colbert, Mrs. Brochard, was presented a letter of thank you from the President of CPS, Mr. David Vitale.

The French and American students shared memorable moments of time spent together enjoying a Sunday afternoon walk along the Canal Saint-Martin, participating in an outdoor dance class on the Place de la République or climbing all the way to the top of Notre-Dame Cathedral.
