In 2016 the Students Exchange program shifted to Chicago. The French students were hosted by King families and had the opportunity to experienced the American home.
The day of their arrival, they were greeted and serenaded by members of the school band. During the week they attended several classes, watched a school play, witnessed a CPS battle of the bands performance and enjoyed a school party with music and food.
Lycée Colbert and King College Prep were honored to be awarded Sister Schools status by Sister Cities International and later were later honored by Mayor Emmanuel with a a tour of City Hall. Students had an opportunity to visit the home of President Barack Obama, spend time at Operation PUSH and visited other Chicago landmarks throughout the city.
Chaperones had the opportunity to attend the Chicago White Sox home opener and visit historic Wrigley Field, home of the World Champion Chicago Cubs.
